Last Rain of the Summer by DDL-Photography
Last Rain of the Summer
September 20, 2014

The sun breaks out on a late summer rain storm highlighting the rain drops. With the fist day of Autumn just a couple days away, this would be the last rain for the summer of 2014 which went way too fast.

Hello,

1:28am and why am I still awake??!!

Well, I was anxious to get some work that is starting to get backlogged downloaded tonight and I finally just finished. I'm also going to try something kind of new/newish. In the past I've only downloaded just a small amount of pictures from a photo outing and being cautious not to put up too many. Hence my slogan "Quality First". However, I always wondered in the back of my mind if I was being too picky and left out some potentially good shots. After all everyone has different opinions and likes. So, I went ahead and gave that a try tonight and will do so for a while and see what flies and what takes a total digger. A good example of this is three different shots of Union Pacific 1601 in my galley that I just uploaded. The first was almost ground level of 1601 and her other two counterparts, The second was elevated with more of the rich summer light on it and the second was a going away black and white with some sun glint, humidity and a whole lot of diesel exhaust. Like I mentioned, in the past I probably would have only picked one and the others would have never been seen.

Yes, this also pertains to my non railroad photography as well. No...really I do take pictures of other subjects.....no joke....oh come on....I really do! Trust me I'm working on it. Like any other artist I just got in a comfy rut so to speak and it's long over due to stretch my other creative sides.

So there we go and here I go off to bed!

Take care and as always "Thank You" for stopping by my page and your kind words of support!

You're very welcome Julian!

Yep, I've loved trains since I was 2. I grew up in Sidney, NE which is small rural town in western Nebraska. It has the Union Pacific double main running east and west through it and the BNSF running north and south. Since ther was not much to do in a small town, my mom would park by the track and we would watch trains when I was little. That started my love for trains which later in life I would start photographing and modeling them in both HO and 2-Rail O scale. It's a fantastic hobby in both areas!

Take care and keep up the great work!
